Hi Raybro,

Try creating a new user account(admin) from Control Panel,User Accounts and  install it under the new user account.

Use this original link for download : www.dell.com/.../dsc_home

If it gets installed on the new user account then it may be an issue with your old user account profile.

Hello Ray,

When did the errors begin?

Other than the windows updates, where there any new updates to the system (hardware drivers, etc?)

I would like to know the exact error message(s) that you are getting, so any screen shots that you could get me would also be helpful.

The log files I need are in two places list below:

C:\Users\*YOUR USERNAME*\AppData\Roaming\PCDr

C:\ProgramData\PCDr\ \logs

If you could please zip up the contents from both of the directories and include any screen shots in an email to me (support@pc-doctor.com attn: JamesB), I can our team to begin looking into what is causing the errors that you are seeing.

Thanks,

Hello Ray,

Thank you for taking the time in assisting me with the emailed information and the screen shots.

It appears that there was a failed installation and that a rollback was needed, this is usually indicated when an installation has failed, so I will assume that the previous version of the program have been un-installed.  There are some additional steps that I need you to take, so if you have the time and are willing please do the following:

If you have not already rebooted your system after receiving the rollback error message that you included in your screen shot, please do so.

Browse to C:\Program Files\Dell Support Center\

The folder should be empty, if there is a an *uninst* file in the directory, please reboot again and verify that the folder has been removed.

I would then ask that you rename, not delete, the PCDr directories under C:\Users\*YOUR USERNAME*\AppData\Roaming\ and C:\ProgramData\ so that we can rule out some form of corruption in those directories.

Once all of those steps have been taken we can try to install again using the file located at content.dellsupportcenter.com/.../aulauncher.exe

Please let me know the results,

Thanks,

Hello Ray,

That last screen shot helped us get that much closer.  For whatever reason, AULauncher is detecting another build installed on your system 6032.39, which is why your screen shot indicated that a patch from .39 to .102.  I was able to reproduce the same issue you that you are seeing and I was able to get past it.  If you are familiar with maneuvering through your system's registry, you should be able to get this corrected rather quickly.  Please follow the steps below:

1. Press the windows key and R to open a run window

2. Type in Regedit

3.  Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

4.  Expand SOFTWARE

5.  There should be a folder named PC-Doctor.  If there isn't one, then there is no need to go any further

6.  You have two options regarding the folder.  You can either rename the folder to _PC-Doctor or you can delete it.  I will leave it up to you.

7.  Once the key is renamed or deleted, you can try to run aulauncher.exe that is included in my previous thread.

Please let me know if you had to stop at step number 5, if the completed steps did or did not solve the issue.

Thanks,

Ray,

I am very happy to hear that we got the installation issue resolved.  Please let us know if you start to see the issue that you originally came to the forums for.
