PLEASE HELP__DOCKING STATIONS FOR 9200?

I really need a docking station or port replicator for my new 9200. I cant find any compatible on the dell website. Are there any out there that will fit this model????

i did a lil' research into the 9200, and from what i can tell at the moment... there is no port replicator for the 9200... Not from Dell, and again, from what i gathered, not from any other 3rd party manufacturer either... whether or not this will change is another question. i have the 9100 and there have 'rumors' of a port rep. soon to be available for the 9100 but with the discontinuation of this model... i have doubts [s'okay though... i kinda built my own]. Either way, it seems Dell does not provide port reps. for their higher end Inspiron Notebooks. Could be because they're sort of in the 'desktop replacement' catagory? im not a foremost expert though so i could most definitely be wrong...

Peace!

I don't have a 9100 or 9200, but I may be able to help here anyway.  Basically, what it comes down to is this -- if the computer doesn't already have a connector specifically for a port replicator, then the computer can never have a port replicator.  No way around it.  BTW, my 8600's port replicator connector is on the BOTTOM of the computer.  Bad decision, in MVHO, but that's where it is (I'd rather it be on the back, like it was on my old 7500).

So what to do.

Targus makes a "Universal Port Replicator," but it's really nothing more than a USB hub.  You can't plug a monitor into it, and you can't get power for the computer from it.  And as far as I know, you can't connect your network cable or modem to it, either.  Basically, if it isn't USB, it won't go through this thing.

So why not just use a good powered USB hub?  Keyboard, mouse, printer, and any other USB accessory you have will connect.

Hope this helps.

I finally found something that has the monitor capability and will work with the 9100 (so I assume the 9200 as well). It's the Belkin USB 2.0 Dockstation, part no. F5U216. Cost is about $100.
