reinstalled vista is missing stuff

My 1530s hd croaked after 3 months so best buy sent it off to get fixed. They reinstalled vista from the disk that came with it and stuff is missing like the touchpad control tab that was under mouse I think, my norton is gone and the windows key-tab option that gave a layered view of programs doesnt work. How can I get this stuff back. After only having it for 3 months they should have given me a whole new machine seeing as I gotta start from scratch anyway. I have no way to get rid of that touchpad click and enable the slider option now. Any suggestions beside tossing it out in the rain? (dont tempt me)

Are you referring to the 3-D (Aero) function? If so, open your Display control panel and select Aero (Vista Aero) under Themes.

You'll probably have to download Norton from the Symantec website.

Good Luck. I don't know about the mouse thingy.

thank you SO much. had the aero thing figured out but the touchpad device is fixed now. That download fixed it just fine. Hope your livewell is full of bass and the other you cant say here. man I hate the click on touchpad thing. When I got it I was filling the machine full of garbage I never clicked on(or didnt think so). Now I gotta get norton back somehow. Paid for it before and dont know how to reinstall it. get the whole thing I guess.

If you have the cd key for Norton then you can download it from the Symantec site and enter the cd key when needed. If you don't know how to get the Norton download, Symantec has FREE chat support on their site.

No cd key. It came already installed on the 1530. And any info from Norton when I paid for it is obviously gone with the crash. Ive used the chat before on there and it takes half a day to get it so maybe over the weekend. I didnt like Norton anyway, what a pain to keep running.

Another thing missing is the Wireless something icon in Control Panel. It was the last icon in there and its not there now. It had a few options that arent duplicated elsewhere that I have been able to find. This is very depressing. And I could have sworn there was a Documents and Settings folder in the C: drive. Now there is just a Documents folder with little in it.
