Replacing a 7720 keyboard (for a beginner)
Hello,
I've just ordered a 17R SE in the UK, and have since learned that this model no longer comes with a backlit keyboard. Gah! So I'd like to ask:
1) Can I replace the non-backlit keyboard with a backlit one? Is it compatible?
2) Is this a relatively easy process for a beginner? Is it just a matter of removing the keyboard, plugging in the new one and Bob's your uncle it'll be recognised straight away, or is there more to it than that?
3) Would doing this void my warranty?
Thanks for any replies in advance!

Hi briggm,
Yes, Inspiron 17R SE supports backlit Keyboard.
Check this link to purchase a backlit keyboard: http://dell.to/193G2uY
Refer the topic “Remove the keyboard” and “Replacing the keyboard” from this link: http://bit.ly/1087YJ2
Replacing the keyboard will not void the warranty of the system.
Please reply for any further help.
