S-video question

Everytime I am using my s-video, if i close the lid to my inspiron 6000, the s-video will shut itself off, and i have to reenable it via Fn+F8. Is there any way that i could configure my computer so that when I close the lid, the picture will stay on the tv? thankyou!

Go to the control panel and click power options. I seem to remember seeing an option for that in there.

hmm...i can't seem to find anything under there. The closest would be under the "advanced" menu, "when i close the lid of my portable computer:" and i have it set to "do nothing."
any other suggestions?

I have an inspiron 600m with XP+SP2 and have the same unfortunate situation. I also look around in the power properties but could not find anything.

I'll appreciate responses to this

Why has there not been a solution to this problem? Its been 4 years! Can someone at Dell please get off there but and do something?
