S video usage

How do I use an S video cable to contact my E1505 laptop to my TV, both which have S video ports. I have already purchased a S video cable, but I'm not sure how to set my XP Home PC to choose another video display.

Right now I can't even try this, because the cable I have keeps falling out of my S video port of my laptop. Well after messing around for days with DELL support with no luck I just ordered a new cable from DELL. It was their top line "model" and the sales rep assured my that it would work on my application. I got the DELL cable this week and I had the same problem with this as the last one, the cable keeps falling out on the S video port in my E1505, so my next problem source should be the PC port itself. Any thing that I've missed?
