SD card reader no response - Latitude E5430
All of a sudden the SD Card Reader on E5430 laptop doesn't work When I insert SD card nothing happens. Before, a window would pop up, or I could see the SD card in my computer.
No nothing happens and it doesn't show up under my computer.
Also, under device manager -> storage controllers, not there any more.
I believe it's a O2 Micro OZ600xxx card reader. I tried installing driver, but still doesn't see SD Card when inserted.
Any idea if the SD Card reader is just dead? Or do I have a driver issue. How to tell?
Windows 7 Professional 64bit
Thanks

Hi shadysprings,
This issue can occur either due to the drivers or due to the hardware itself. Please run the online hardware diagnostics on the card reader by visiting the link given below:

Let me know your findings.

That is unacceptable for a computer of this age and price. As it turns out the issue is indeed an update matter, but I cannot figure out which. I suspect it is a Dell update, which seems to have disabled Port 6. Here from another forum is the answer. O2Micro Memory Card Reader on Latitude with Windows 8.1 - Laptop General Hardware Forum - Laptop - Dell Community
I am a good deal less enthusiastic about Dell than I was before this took a whole day of two weeks in Italy. Thanks y'all.

I had this same issue with my Dell e5430 Win8.1. On Dell's product site there is an O2Micro driver, but it doesn't work for me, so I started to find something else. Windows didn't see my SD cards in the slot. Finally, I've got it. This drive works for me:

All of sudden my Dell Inspiron 14 3451 Laptop SD Card reader would not show up in windows PC, Device Manger or Disk Manager running Windows 10. I did extensive internet searches and watched many YouTube Videos but no one had the solution. Your advice fixed my computer instantly.
This is what I did.
Went to: http://dell.to/1iQ07dv
Typed in the search: SD Card Driver
Clicked: Auto Detect
Clicked: Drivers & Down Load
Clicked: SD Card
Clicked: Download
Saved & installed: Audio_Driver_69T85_WN32_6.0.1.7564_A01.EXE
Thank you so much for You have saved me a lot of time and a lot of money.

Hi Rajth, I ran quick and complete. Every item passed. However, there is no mention of a SD card reader.
It like there's no SD card reader installed on laptop.

Hi shadysprings,
Thank you for the update. I suggest you to check if the SD card is listed in the Device Manager or do you see a Yellow bang on a device.
Let me know your findings.

Hi Rajath ,
There are no SD card readers under device manager.
What does that mean?

Hi shadysprings,
I'm sorry for the delayed response. It means that the SD Card reader has not been recognized. Do you see a Yellow exclamation mark on any devices listed in the Device Manager?

Same problem.Drivers updated but no SDI listed in system devices. All others up to date. Believe it is an upgrade. Tried late restore point..didn't work and earlier restore points disappeared. Now on the road and need it., Seems frequent. Has a solution been found?

Mine ended with that I need to replace the SD card reader. I haven't yet. I just bought a USB SD Card reader for $5 and use that.

This driver is for Latitude 3330. Did it work for you? Which Laptop do you have?
Can you list the steps exactly how you did it?
Thanks

I have an latitude E5430 (mid 2012) . With win8 64bit.
Today i wanted to use the sdcard reader, but has no response.. so i looked for driver on official site, and i found nothing for my e5430 with win8 64bit... sdcard driver download.
So i looked in my device manager... storage controllers.. and there wasnt any sd host controller.
But i found SD host adapters above and i have copy the Hardware IDs and search it on the web to see what product it is. I found that it was O2Micro MMC/SD controller for dell e5430 non-vPro,
From over there i've downloaded the link from above , install it .. and success, it worked. When i've inserted the micro Sd Card it pop out in my Computer.
