Hi Golferwayne,
Welcome to the Community. To setup an encryption on your Dell wireless router follow the below steps.
Open Internet Explorer, and in the address bar type in 192.168.2.1, it will ask you for the user name and password for the router page, by default its admin in both boxes and press enter should bring you to the router page. Click on basic settings, and then click on Wireless security. There you can set what security you need. Set the default key to 1. Click 'Next' to save the changes. Click Next again and click Save & Restart to finalize the changes.
WEP:
ACSII (Any character)
5 (64 / 40 BIT) 13 (128 BIT)
Hex (A – F and 0 – 9)
10 (64 / 40 BIT) 26 (128 BIT)
WPA TKIP:
ACSII (Any character)
8-63
Hex (A – F and 0 – 9)
8-64
Hope this helps.
Thank you
Royan

golferwayne,
Here are the instructions on...
How to login to your wireless router I recommend using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings, I use channel 11. I havent had a wireless device that could not connect top my network.
Here is the setup with pictures. You don't have to uninstall the network adapter at the bottom.
