Soon to be released new Dell Docks may require BIOS and driver updates on your laptop before use!
Dell will soon be releasing updated desktop docking stations that are compatible with Type C and Thunderbolt systems. These docks may require that you update your system's BIOS and install docking station drivers before they will function properly. Older BIOS versions or lack of docking station drivers could result in the dock not being recognized by your system or not working as expected. Once released, these docking station drivers and updated BIOS versions will be available on support.dell.com for supported laptop systems.

I think people need to keep in mind that Dell has the 30 day policy on returns (in which they pay the return postage if the unit is defective) so if there is no good fix coming out - send it back and reorder when they get it functional .

Nah none of them worked. Have tried everything posted on this thread and some other threads. Here's the drivers I posted on here last night that are on my system:
TB15
XPS 15 9550 Win10 Ent 64
BIOS: 01.01.15 --- (now .19)
Chipset: 10.1.1.13
Thunderbolt Firmware: 02.11.06, A02
Thunderbolt Controller 1575: 15.3.39.1
ASMedia USB3.0 eXtensible Host Controller: 1.16.29.1 -- (upgrade didn't work mentioned by others)
Intel ME Driver Patch for Power Management: A00 -- (patch posted in here by Dell)

Don't think I ever pulled the network cable on the dock while troubleshooting last few days, seeing as it's imperative I have a hardwire connection for my company network, so it could have been the same before this bios update. If that's the case, the Bios update actually didn't change anything for me.

Found and resolved the issue with Bluetooth. Somewhere along the line a Widcom bluetooth package was loaded. It is unclear how, when, or why as in attempting to get the TB15 to work I was applying the various driver updates and patches recommended here. I completely removed the Widcom bluetooth software using iobit and bluetooth is back to working normally again using just the Dell Wireless 1830 Bluetooth 4.1 LE.
I'm still not using the TB15. I'm going to give Dell a couple of weeks to, hopefully, work out the problems and then give it another try. If it is still unstable/not working at that point I will return it.

Dell TB15 connected to Dell XPS 15( 9550/0 only stable with Asus drivers. Otherwise, constant disconnects during Ethernet activity.
Dell XPS 9550 1.1.19 BIOS combined with Dell Thunderbolt Firmware A02-02.11.06 does not solve issue.

I believe some of your drivers have newer versions on the Dell website using "All Drivers":
The current Thunderbolt Controller Driver is :
Chipset_Driver_7P7G7_WN32_15.3.39.250_A01.EXE
And this needs to be applied BEFORE the Thunderbolt Firmware is applied. I had to uninstall the Thunderbolt controller (15.3.39.1) before it would update and then reinstalled the Thunderbolt Firmware.
The ASMedia USB3.0 VERSION ON Dell website is: Chipset_Driver_V2WY5_WN32_1.16.32.1_A01.
I don't know if any of these changes will make a difference on your system but might be worth a try.

I received my TB15 today and what should I say: it works like a charm!
I'm located in Austria/Europe and I wanted to have one of these docks immediately after release but unfortunately they weren't released in Europe yet. So I ordered one in the US on the second day after release - shortly after they also were'nt longer available in the US (maybe cause of all the driver problems, which were discussed in several forums).
I've updated all drivers (only these from Dell Support Site) and BIOS before plugging the TB15 to my Precision 5510 and everything worked immediately without any disconnection problems of LAN or USB.
I'm using following configuration:
Indeed I also recognized the increased fan speed (which was also discussed) but I don't mind, because I always listen to music during work and so I can't hear the fan (which is not very loud) - even it has the benefit, that the laptop stays cool while having the lid closed.

Glad to hear of your experience.I received mine Feb 1 - tried to get it operating and saw all the reports online so I sent it back to Dell in a couple of days. I have the 180W model on order now with Dell (over the phone) and from what I can determine it will be re-released last week of Feb (22,23) and even seeing this on European websites as well as CDW in the U.S. I have already installed all the possible drivers (updated) on Dell website (including the Asmedia driver which they probably took from the ASUS website and rebranded it), Hopefully the second time around it will be a plug and play situation like yours.

Is there a way to completely remove the Thunderbolt firmware? I can find and successfully remove the Thunderbolt controller driver using "Add/Remove Programs" (I use IObit but it accomplishes the same thing) but I can't find a way to remove the firmware.

Dell,
Did this driver Firmware exist on new laptops as a default already? I have the XPS 15 9550 and just received Jan 27th. If so can we please get a link to the firmware to flash back to an earlier version? Haven't been able to find one.
If the driver is brand new for your machines and there was no earlier version... what needs to be done here?
I have completely reinstalled windows, not using Dell image but just a straight windows install, and reinstalled all drivers by hand straight from the site (instead of relying on the CAB file). Yet the result is the exact same. Network cable is plugged in, everything goes down. I obviously cant touch the TB3 firmware with reinstalling Windows, so that makes me lean towards it as the culprit.
I have installed all the newest drivers, including:
1. .19 Bios
2. Dell USB Patch posted in here

I have achieved stability when Ethernet attached with the following:
OS: W10 Pro - Not From Dell Image
System: XPS 15 (9550)
BIOS: Upgraded from 1.0.7 to .19 before plugging in the TB15
Thunderbolt Firmware Update: 02.11.06, A02 installed once TB15 attached
Installed ASMedia USB 3.0 drivers from Asus Website using a link someone posted in this thread.
Did not install the Dell USB patch.
Did not install Intel Thunderbolt Controller Driver - leveraged whatever Windows detected.
Attached Items:
2 External HDDs
Gigabit Ethernet
HDMI
All working beautiful now but only after the ASUS ASMedia drivers.

I got my TB15 Friday. I decided to wait a few days to see what else might develop in regards to updates. I finally installed all the updates Monday night:
1) Installed BIOS Update v1.1.19.
2) Installed Thunderbolt Controller Driver 15.3.39.250. (Thanks for the prior post that mentioned to do this before upgrading the firmware)
3) Installed Thunderbolt 3 Firmware Update v02.11.06 (unplugged the TB15 before this)
4) Replugged in the TB15
5) Installed ASMedia USB 3.0 Extended Host Controller Driver v1.16.32.1.
6) Installed Realtek USB Audio Driver for Dell Thunderbolt Dock v6.3.9600.41.
7) Installed Realtek USB GBE Ethernet Controller Driver v10.6.1211.2015. (I already had a previous version installed for a USB-C Ethernet adapter I was using. The new installation asked to do a "Repair" installation.)
8) Installed Update for the USB audio/mouse on Dell TB Dock.
Everything installed fine. I then connected my ethernet cable to the dock and ran an 1.5 hour video podcast without any issues.
I will check some more things.

With regard to the last two posts - does it matter in what order the various drivers are installed (except for Thunderbolt Firmware and Thunderbolt Controller Driver) and whether the TB15 needs to be connected in order to install all the drivers. In anticipation of getting a new TB15 I have installed all the drivers/patches without problems and they do show up in Programs/Features as installed (including the Asmedia driver that was on Dell site). Do some of them need to be reinstalled once the TB 15 is finally connected?

Unfortunately Dell really did not specify a sequence for installing these updates. If you follow what I did, you should be ok. Just remember two things:
1. You need to have any Thunderbolt devices disconnected when you upgrade the Thunderbolt firmware.
2. Before running the BIOS update (1.1.19), you need to have the Realtek High Definition Audio ALC3266 Driver updated to v6.0.1.7628.
At some point in the process I think I might have lost sound, but I believe it came back after installing the Audio driver for the TB dock.

Another thing that would be useful would be some wording as to what the ports are instead of those tiny icons on the Quick Start Guide that you need a magnifying glass to see. They took the specs off the website but I can decipher most of them. There are a few I am not sure of:
1) On the side with the headset port and two USB 3.0 ports, there is one tiny one to the right of the two USB 3.0 ports which I can't decipher.
2) I think the button on the top may be the power button? It is represented by two icons: a crescent moon and a clock.
3) The tiny port above the power plug might be a plug for speakers? It is represented by two icons which do look like speakers.
