Start Up Error: Inspiron 6000

I have an inspiron 6000 and I receive the following startup error

 

"load needed DLLs for kernal"

 I searched and found some solutions that required using the XP CD.  My laptop did not come with one.  Does anyone have any idea how to solve this issue.

First thing to do is a complete hard drive diagnostic - F12 at powerup.  Let the quick tests run, then boot to the 32-bit diags and run an extended hard drive test (takes a couple of hours).

If the drive fails, replace it.

If it passes, you will need to order a Windows disc from Dell to try a repair:
