Switching from 'Dial-Up' to Wireless

Question

I have an Inspiron 5150.  I used  to use 'dial-up' when we lived in Boonies. Now we have High Speed. Laptop still tries to dial-up out of Outlook Express or MSN( which I'm forced to use when I'm replying to an email from websites, etc...otherwise I don't use those two.) Works fine when I initiate an e-mail out of Comcast Webmail. It has a Linksys Wireless Card to connect to our Comcast service. Any help? Ok well first thing is to uninstall MSN explorer as you don't need it since your not using dial-up. You can disable or uninstall outlook as well if your going to use webmail or change it so it isn't your default email program. Next you need to use a browser like Internet Explorer or I would recommend Mozilla Firefox which is what I use. As for your linksys wireless card, you need something for it to connect to. Comcast normally just gives you a cable modem for your high speed connection. You will need to hook that modem up to a wireless router which will broadcast the signal throughout your home. Make sure your computer is seeing the wireless card and windows should automatically detect a wireless network that is in range and prompt you to connect. Once it says it is connected open up IE or firefox and go to a webpage and you should be in buisness.

As ^^^^ he said for the Internet connectivity.....but Outlook Express also needs to be told to 'get real'.   These details are specific to Outlook, but follow the logic & you'll get there:     within Outlook Express, go to TOOLS, then  Accounts, then PROPERTIES.   In the PROPERTIES box, select CONNECTION and activate the radio button which equates to CONNECT USING MY LOCAL AREA NETWORK.   Ensure that USE MODEM or ALWAYS DIAL THIS NUMBER are disabled.
