The AC power adapter type cannot be determined.

Please share the system model and Operating system installed. 

Please check if the charging port is loose, sticky or broken.

You may try using an alternate AC adapter and see if the issue persists with that.  You may also check in system BIOS if the AC adapter gets detected. You may follow the steps below to access system BIOS:

• Restart the computer.
• As soon as you see the Dell logo, start tapping the ‘F2’ key on top of the keyboard.
• If you wait too long and the Microsoft Windows appears, then continue to wait until you see the Windows desktop. Now shutdown your computer and try again.
• After this a new window would appear. You can only use the arrow keys of the keyboard to navigate between the options as the mouse is not functional in this mode.
• Check if the AC adapter wattage gets recognized.

Please share the findings.

system model is XPS L502X intel core i5 opreating system windows 7 ..... Ok i tried this and i found that the AC adapter is Unknown :(

i've tried another adapter and it say's the same thing ... but when  i make the cable curved it charges !! ... i'm not sure that the issue was from the cable ! :/ .... DELL-Chinmay S thanks for your support :D

sometimes its shows wattage and somestimes it doesnt. what should i do tell me please

May I know the system model and the Operating system installed on the computer?

Did you follow the steps in the above post?

May I know what exactly happens when the adapter is connected?

Remove the battery and connect the adapter to the computer and check if the computer stays on Adapter.
