upcoming mobile GPUs
Another annoying post where I make vague claims without giving any hard details. Just a note to say that there will almost definitely be an 8-pipe mobile GPU from nVidia before this year is out. And it will be 8 proper pipes, not NV30 style 8 pipes. It should add up to performance slightly better than a Radeon 9700 Pro desktop card. I might add that this not official, but is an inference I made from being given info on another upcoming product and when I asked I received smiles but no comment one way or another.
The reason I made this post is for people like me who are disappointed with the current range of mobile video cards. Now you know to hold out for the end of this year when we see one of the biggest jumps in mobile video performance ever. Not sure about what ATI might offer, but my guess would be something pretty similar.

He's not talking about 8x AGP (These have been out ages.... just not many laptop motherboards have supported them), hes talking about 8 pixel-pipes. You must have read his post too fast without really taking it in.....

Sorry, I knew the M60 only supports 4X AGP anyways. So pixel pipes are a diff animal altogether. Must not be the card he's talking about then.

Yeah, they are different. I can't wait until one of these beasts hit the shelves though.
