Using laptop without the battery present
My mother-in-law has an Inspiron 9400 that is giving her a message that the battery needs to be replaced. She never uses it on battery power alone, always with the AC adapter plugged in. Can I simply remove the battery so she can use it on AC power without a battery present, or does she need to buy a new battery? Thanks.

Just ignore the message.
Some batteries like the D400 is right on the corner. If you take it out, the laptop itself becomes wobbly.
It is fine to use a laptop without a battery.

You can remove it and use just the adapter.
