What disc's do i need to reset my computer?
What disc's do i need to reset my computer?
Here in front of me i have a dell inspiron 1501 with windows vista on it. It stinks. Its slow, it doesn't run any applications and its just messed up. About a month ago, I bought a new laptop, knowing that there was no hope for this one. I threw the dell aside and loved my new computer for about three months, but then i thought i might wanna fix up my dell, because it would be cool to have 2 working laptops, 3 working computer, in my house, since we are always working on assignments and stuff at my house. So I backed it up (that took about 4 hours to do, the application that backed it up said it would take minutes :) )and shut it down yesterday. Now I am thinking I'm just gonna wipe it, OS and all (I don't know exactly what I'm saying or doing) and put back on just the OS and Microsoft Office. But I don't know exactly how. I went to my Basement and dug up some discs. I'll list them here so you guys can tell me which ones I need and don't need. All I need to have is a web browser (probably just gonna install chrome through USB), Microsoft Office, and... I think that's it...
Here are the Discs:
1. Drivers and Utilities: Dell Color Printer 725
2. Application; Already Installed on your computer: for re installing cyberlink powerdvd 7.0 software
(I'm just typing in what i see on the disc ;) )
(Also, I have two dell computers; One laptop and one desktop. So If may have list something for the desktop. Please tell me if I did, because I don't wanna mess up my computer.)
3.Drivers and Utilities; Already Installed on your computer: For re installing Dell Dimension Computer Software. ( This one I am almost positive is from my desktop computer, but I can find one that says "for re installing Dell INSPIRON Computer Software" so i listed this one Just in case.)
4.Drivers and user Documentation: Dell E197FP LCD Flat Panel Monitor.
5.Disc 1: Microsoft Office Small Business 2007; Disc 2: Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager
6. Operating System; Already Installed on your computer: Re installation dvd Windows Vista Business 32BIT [ For Distribution Only with new dell PC
That's all I have. I hope you guys can help. Please tell me where to start. My computer is all backed up and all the files are still on it. A step-by-step would be immensely appreciated
Thanks In Advance
(also, if you think i posted this in the wrong section and you think I could get more responses somewhere else, please tell me!)

2. when your system became sluggish what items did you instal or websites visited. remove those installed
3. defrag computer
