Why Can't I run the PC Hardware diagnostics test on my computer, get Invalid URI error msg
I wanted to do the Hardware diagnostics test on my Inspiron 1545 running Win7/64 and when it asks to check for service tag and I click "accept", it downloads the dell system detect application (does it have to do that every time or can it use the same download the next time? and it does just say temporary, so does it delete itself when it's done, or do I have to manually delete it?, If I could even get it to work?) My problem is.... when I go to open that download, it says it is unzipping the files, and then the next msg says: Application can not be started. Contact the application vendor (Who IS the application vendor? I'm assuming they mean Dell??)
and then two boxes,, to either click "ok" or "details." When I click on details, I get this invalid URI msg below: (I'm wondering what that means? and why it can't even check my computer for the service tag? Is it a registry error or something? And is there anything I can do to fix this problem? I did realize that I was still in the Opera browser when I tried to run the application, and Dell prefers IE, would that make any difference though on the download or why the scan wouldn't work?)

Hi Tessla62,
I would recommend you to use Internet Explorer. In case you face the same error, try resetting Internet Explorer.
To reset the Internet Explorer settings:
I would recommend you to run the on-board diagnostics (outside windows) using the below mentioned steps to check the system hardware functionality.
To run the on-board Diagnostics:
Please reply if you have any questions.
