XPS 15Z Bottom cover damage

I bought a XPS 15Z laptop at Costco a couple of months ago. I have 3 year warranty on this unit. I accidentally dropped a laptop on the floor and the left bottom cover is damaged. I know this is not covered under warranty, but my question is if I replace the bottom cover on my own, will my warranty be voided automatically. Thank you,

Hi

Welcome to the Community. Does the system function? Do you know if there is any damage inside? If you do not damage anything while replacing the bottom cover then it will not void the warranty. I found this video very helpful.

Thank you.

Thank you for your response. Everything is functioning properly, only cosmetic damage. I found one new OEM cover on eBay, purchased and I am pretty comfortable replacing it on my own. I did this many times before on other brands, but I was just curious if it's going to void the warranty.

Thank You
