e1505 memory
I see that the fastest type of RAM that Dell's website sells for an inspiron 6400/e1505 is 6400/800mhz. But I see that 1000mhz DDR-2 200 pin memory does exist. Would it work?

Also, what types of CAS latency does this laptop need? CPU-Z says I currently have CAS Latency 4.0

It might, but won't run any faster - the very fastest this system can run RAM is at PC2-5300 speed. Anything over that will simply be downclocked by the memory controller.

Again, it may work - but won't run at 800 MHz.

Save yourself the money and buy the PC2-5300 because it is known to work.
