ERROR CODE 2000-0146 in my latop INSPIRON N4010

I purchased my laptop INSPIRON  N 4010 on 18-10-2010..

On 18-03-2011, when i was working with my laptop a error message appeared stating "Windows detected a   hard disk problem. Backup ur files immediately to prevent information loss and then contact the computer manufacturer to determine if u need to repair or replace the disk ."

So i took  backup  of all my files and restarted the OS.

once again a warning msg appeared before booting...

" S.M.A.R.T failure predicted on Hard Disk 0 : ST9500325AS-(S1)

Immediately back-up ur data and replace ur HDD as the failure is imminent"

As it is a serious warning, i handed over my laptop to the DELL Service centre which is at Koramangala on 19-03-2011.

On the same day i received my laptop from them saying that " the hard disk issue is resolved "...

When i ran the diagnostics test still the error msg appears "ERROR CODE 2000-0146" with beep sound..

So i said them to replace a new error free  hard disk as my laptop is still under warranty...

But they disagreed with me...

Also i got the same respone from the DELL Technical support team...

Am not satisfied with their reply..

someone plzz help me how to proceed with this problem..

Hi there,

Can i suggest that you have a quick read through the terms and conditions and see what they state as their call to action, i would presume that they would have 2 sets of terms, one would be if its within a certain period of time then they would change it for a new one which wouldnt apply to you as you have had the laptop for some time, the second would be their call to action after a ceretain period of time, this should give you an idea of what type of after sales service they should provide you and whether they are breaching their terms.

I work for an IT support company based in London and we deal with Dell on a regualr basis, personally we dont have many problems with them, but on the odd few occasions where we have done they have been very helpful if you keep persisting with them. If you keep reporting this problem to them they should oblige in giving you a new hard drive, if not go to the opwers higher, where customer satisfaction is important to them.
