Got Punished for Honesty!

Good Morning Everyone,

As the title says I got punished for being honest by supervisor over chat support.

My less than a week 15z 5523 ($1289) got damaged awhile i was at work.

So reaching Dell Chat Support was the solution at almost midnight my time.

What happened to the systems?

which was the question that i answered with 100% honesty and told them how the system got damaged by ex girlfriend who was taking her stuff from my house awhile i was at work.

and as fast as he could he noted my account and the whole case as intentional damage by me!!!.

this is not fair at all, And i could of lied and said yeah i spilled coffee on it or dropped it but why lie???

As a graphic designer my job/work depends on this laptop and if i don't get replacement i'll lose my clients + money.

Now i need your opinion Dell community and advise as well and thanks in advance for any future help/suggestions/ideas.

P.S. Pictures sent to more than email i was provided with and 2 supervisor said its beyond repair cause its into pieces.

Moe

Moe,

Talk to your credit company and they might simply refund you the amount. I know for a fact that My American Express is really good about this. I am not sure about other credit card companies.

People at Dell are apparently useless. They are trying to make more money out of you. If you paid for your system via credit card, talk to them. They will be willing to help you in this case. I am going thru similar pain myself and no one at Dell is man enough to stand up for the customer.

PS: Sorry to hear about your breakup.

I do have 1 year extended warranty plus 1 year Lojack. 1 year complete care 2nd day service,  1 year accidental damage you name it:)..

and filling civil & court action is done be reporting to the police and going to court monday to file.

But dell won't replace the system cause the supervisor noted the account with Intentional damage!!!

Unless you have accidental damage coverage, you're out of luck - the standard warranty would not cover a drop or coffee spill either.  I would suggest you file a civil action against the person who destroyed the system - Dell isn't responsible.

I'm dell customer since 2005 and this is my 5th system never ever had problems with tech support or customer service

over the phone or through chat.

But honestly since last night and after i spoke with over 5 diff people who kept transferring me  over and over i fond out they don't give a "chocolate hostage" and none of them cared for me repeating the story over and over.

Even i paid with credit card they won't help!.

P.S. Thanks Modix009

Anything is worth a try at this point because Dell simply won't help you.

I never used Paypal before, but they might have a similar policy. It is worth a try to call them and check with them. Should only take 5-10 minutes. I have spent over 400 minutes talking to Dell aready and I am no where close to a resolution.

Sorry, my blog is little lengthy, but it is really interesting to see how dell kept fixing my computer for multiple times. And all of a sudden they changed their response to "sorry, you are not eligible for warranty, so we are going to take it away".

Actually they weren't man enough to say "sorry".

Dell technical and customer support team is good for nothing

Overseas people will never be able to understand our ways in USA

We are the greatest nation in the world and they are some ignorant people who are trying to figure out how to screw with us.

Sorry man, it sucks that you are going thru this pain. At least you are not alone. I wonder at what point the upper management at dell will really start thinking about giving a rat *ss about their customers

I damaged my iPhone 5 in first 2 weeks. I went to apple store. They replaced it with a new phone right away (no questions asked).

You are lucky that you were able to talk to someone from their headquarters. In my case, they won't even let me talk to anyone else but their crappy tech support and customer service.

I hope that Paypal will be able to do something for you.

Good luck on the law suite. I really hope that you win. Dell needs a slap in their face to come back to senses. Their behavior has been driving customers away to other computer manufacturers.

Iphone and galaxy manufacturers are definitely awesome and have the best customer service in the world.

Good morning,

Just quick update to whom it my concern or interested:-)

After 5 minutes on the phone with PayPal i explained the situation and asked for their pro advise.

And they said for sure a dispute is the solution since dell didn't honor their word.

Also they mentioned why paying for extended /accidental damage warranty when it doesn't really cover??

So its matter of time now until dell reply to PayPal with (1) replacing the system (2) full refund:)

Have a great weekend everyone

P.S. I learned from the whole thing that i no longer need a company treat the customer with such treatment after getting the money
