Inspiron 1501 CAPS LOCK blinking
Please Help!!!
I had been having problems with my laptop running slow and got a .dll media error when trying to start any messenger, i.e. Windows and Yahoo.
A friend of mine remoted into my laptop and started to clean somethings up, when he was doing this the screen went blue and the best way I can described it is that it looked as if it was being defragged but you were seeing it from inside the computer. This went on for an hour, I thought it was him fixing it. After the hour he texted me (because I was unable to see what he was doing) saying to reboot the machine. I didn't know if he was seeing what I was and so I sent him a picture.
Long story short, he didn't get the picture, I rebooted the machine only to get a blank screen and the caps lock key continuously blinks. I got the recovery disks, inserted it into the DVD drive, nothing, I can't even F12 to boot from the disk. When trying to boot, the fan kicks on, the DVD Drive blinks to power up...but still nothing on the screen.
Originally I thought that my HDD had been wiped out but I have been reading on some other forums that this could be the cause of bad RAM.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Usually flashing caps lock, num lock, scroll lock indicate memory, cpu or motherboard errors..
You can try to take your memory out 1 stick at a time to see if you have a bad stick or slot, try each one in the other slot etc.. make sure you seat them properly..
If this does not help, you may have a bad motherboard/cpu.. contact Dell for repair or replacement

This fixed the issue for me. Memory cards were not seated completely and I also switched their places. Thank you so much for posting this fix
