Xps M1730 hidden keyboard buttons
just wonderig , when you remove the Hinge Cover there is an extra 4 buttons there beside the media driect button , what s the purpose of these , i know we can't use them as there covered by the Hinge Cover but just wondering y there there.

there on the left side beside the media direct button

Have a look at the various videos linked to here.
The forum member who made those, strips a XPS M1730 completely, to upgrade the original graphics cards.
One of them may mention what the buttons are for?

Yeah I saw those buttons also while I was cleaning my laptop ( had stuff in the crack so I removed the panel )
and I could not figure out what they were for either... all my internet searching came up with nothing
Any brave soul want to remove the panel and press those buttons while its on and let us know? :)

hmmm ...... did you happen to have quickset running? maybe its like the media direct button..
where they only work once programed by quickset....
what OS are you running? dont think it matters but maybe... we gotta figure out what they are/were for ;)

if you take off the panel to access the hindges there are buttons under that panel on the left hand side. yes i ahve the lcd but it has nohting to do with them , there extra buttons , maybe for future use or somthing .
