5290 2-in-1 SD card boot

Hello,

While browsing through the 5290 2-in-1 bios, I've stumbled upon a "Boot on SD Card" option.

Needless to say that I'm really interested in this feature, being able to use a SD card for the OS while keeping the M2 SSD for data would be super awesome.

I would also be able to switch the OS of this little gem as required (1 corporate, 1 personnal, 1 for tweaking...) Possibilities are endless.

Nevertheless, I'm running into a weird behaviour. The boot is slow as hell and the tablet even stays at the Boot logo (Bios starting) for more than 2 minutes before starting the OS on the SD card.

I'm using a C10 SD card that is possibly a contention point.

I'm aware that this laptop is not meant for people who want to get the most of their gear but has anyone already tried this kind of SD card boot scenario with any success?

Hello, I am experiencing the same behavior on my Latitude 5290 2-in-1. It takes around a minute until the one time boot menu loads with SD card inserted. It shows the option to boot from my SD card after all however I am not able to boot Windows 10. I used Rufus 3.9 to create Windows To Go (Win10_1909) on the SD. I tested both GPT/UEFI and MBR/Legacy BIOS. With UEFI it reboots after attempting to boot, with legacy BIOS option it goes a bit further and ends with BSOD INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE. I was able to boot Windows 10 from the same SD card from Latitude E6440 without problems.

I also tested the SD card with dual boot Ubuntu/Win10 with Grub on Latitude 5290 2-in-1. Linux loaded without any problems, Windows failed with the same BSOD. I am using SD card ADATA Premier ONE microSDXC UHS-II Class 10 (U3) V90 (256GB).

Can anyone help with this please?
