7400 2-in-1 - Battery Issue

My Latitude 7400 2-in-1 was purchased from Dell and warranty started on 2020-JAN-15. During my nearly 1 month of usage, I noticed a strange battery behavior (52 whr) about how % (percentage) remaining is reported in Windows OS, and I'm wondering if the battery is defective.

When I'm using the laptop and charging it to full, it seems charging would stop at around 85-86% percent. If I let the laptop stay on charger for an additional time (after being "full"), then it'll go up to 100%. Then I disconnect the charger and use the laptop and the % remaining will go down overtime - the behavior seems normal here. Once I shutdown the laptop (fast startup DISABLED) and come back a few hours later, the % remaining would go down approximately 15% compared to the % right before shutdown. This behavior seems to indicate my battery is at about 85% of its life when "full".

85% of 52,000 mWh is roughly 44,000 mWh, but the Windows Battery Report reports full charge capacity as approximately 49,000 mWh, which seems incorrect. But anyways, a "real" full charge capacity of 44,000 mWh seems abnormal for a machine that's been used for less than 1 month.

Attached are my Dell Power Manager Settings + Windows Battery Report (download image to see it clearly).

I recently purchased a demo 7400 2 in 1 as well and it had 1 issue. The battery drained even if it was off

What i did was below:

  1. Go to Device Manager
  2. Navigate to System Devices
  3. Right click on Intel Management Engine Interface and go to Properties
  4. Navigate to Power Management tab
  5. Untick allow the computer to turn off the device to save power

it solved my first issue

Now today as i was browsing the computer on battery. Used it for a day and half say 4 hrs-5hrs. the battery was on 68 percent

And after 1hr of use boom the PC screen went blank and on reboot, the battery was low

Please help if you found a fix.

Battery health reporting as excellent

I have Latitude 7400 I7 which was bought in February 2020 with exactly the same issue.

If I charge to 100% or shut down with battery at 80%, after few hours I have 18% less.

When I charge for example to 100% and shut down, if I turn on after 5 hours or after 5 days battery is at 82%.

Battery report shows round 5% wear (57,008mWh from designed 60,002mWh).

I tried all kind of settings but nothing helps.

In service they changed the battery 3 times and one time mother board, but the same problem still exist.

This is not the only 7400 in our company which has the same issue.

Dell service still don't have any solution for this problem.

I have this same problem except mine charges to 75% and stops, when it's turned on and plugged in it goes all the from 75% to 100% in a minute and then drains normally until I shut it down and then I lose 25% when I turn it back on later.

Any help will be well appreciated.
