7420 bios v1.15

Several days ago, the Windows Driver update system downloaded and force installed "Dell, Inc. - Firmware - 0.1.15.0".  This has installed bios version 1.15.

But on the Dell driver support site, the latest bios shown is v1.14.1.

Where is the Dell information on the changes of bios v1.15 ?    Why is the update not available on the Dell support site prior to the force install via Microsoft Update?

Update 2:

Dell has sent an endless number of private messages on this topic to me (why all the secrecy).   Here is the latest:

"The product engineering team has informed that they have released the update before it was supposed to and they have gone ahead and requested a cancellation request for the update 1.15 which is not available in our support site.

You should soon be able to see a newer version being released on our support site and have this installed on the system.

Regards,
Mary."

Update.  The support staff have sent me about 15 private messages about this subject.   The first 6 or so were them telling me its all Microsoft's fault.  Clearly that's impossible, as dell is who makes and releases the bios firmware.

When they finally conceded there might be an issue, they asked for some screen shots, which I sent.  But they are unable to actually view a png or jpg image file through the website.  2 attempts at this all failed.    Next they asked for an email sent to a dell address, which I did, but surprise, surprise, they can't locate that either.  The sending MTA email logs show proofpoint (Dell email ISP) accepting the emails, but like a lot of big corp email systems, no doubt it deletes them internally - email filtering that too secure to actually function any more.

Next I uploaded the requested images to a server they can get them from, but no...  to hard for Dell support, or maybe prohibited or maybe the links are hidden from the supports view.

Now up to 15 messages, and I see another one waiting for me.....  so that's it.      Dell support is apparently so cocooned in its own bubble, that it cannot actually do its job.

I'm not wasting anymore time on you people.

I don't see a solution here, but see the same issue.

I believe this is an issue with DCU 4.5, as I rolled back to DCU 4.4, and had no issues.

Same issue with a Latitude 7520.  Worse yet, Dell just release 1.16.1 and it won't install stating that the image from Dell is corrupt and rolls back to the 1.15.0 version installed by Windows Update.

The newer version (1.16.1) doesn't fix the issue. I notice in DCU some of the other device firmware versions are actually higher numbered in 1.15 than with 1.16.1
