Add RAM while in warranty
Hi,
I am looking to add an additional ram stick to my laptop.
The laptop is still within warrenty (basic).
A couple of questions:
1. If I pay for the RAM, can I install it myself without breaking warranty? (I assume not...)
2. If not, where do I need to go to find someone who can install it without breaking the warranty?
Thank you.

You didn't tell us your laptop model, so I can't give you specific information.
Dell generally allows users to install RAM without breaking the warranty. Some models have an easily-removeable back panel to access RAM.
Go to Dell web site to find the service manual for your model. It will show you how to install RAM.
Look on YouTube for videos showing disassembly of your model. But, be cautious with them, as some use steps or methods that are not appropriate. Use the videos to add to your understanding of what to do, but follow the steps in Dell's manual.
If you're comfortable working around sensitive components and using simple tools, you can install RAM yourself. If you're not entirely comfortable, find a reputable local repair shop.
Whenever touching components or working inside a computer, wear a grounded wrist strap, also called anti-static wrist strap, ESD wrist strap, or ground bracelet. I know many people do such work without this, but it's a cheap and sensible precaution. Rest the laptop on an anti-static mat or at least a reasonable alternative such as corrugated cardboard.

Apologies - the laptop model came up when writing the post but didn't get posted. It's a latitude 3520.
Thanks for the advice!
