Battery Health Status - Communication Error

I recently had an issue with my battery when I plugged in the ac adapter and instead of charging, it was instead plugged in but not charging. I've tried all the possible solutions online such as removing my battery and draining the residual power and even uninstalling the battery drivers and installing them but none of the solutions worked. The AC Adapter works fine but once I remove the adapter, the system shuts down. Please advice on what to do before replacing the battery. my laptop model- dell vostro 3458
