camera driver not found
Latitude 7410
My in-built camera recently stopped working giving the error message: "error "0xA00F4244 NoCamerasAreAttached""
I've followed the list of steps on the Dell Support page, however nothing seems to be fixing the problem and, indeed, when I follow one step and go into Device Manager, the camera isn't listed.
I've also gone into the Dell Drivers and Downloads page, however there is no camera driver listed.
What can I do? Where can I find the driver for my camera?
Thank you

OR
System Information:
Press Windows + R, type "msinfo32", and press Enter

@ann_droid It's listed as a hidden device. With regards the System Information, I can't see a camera listed (though I'm more unfamiliar with this)

Hi
My guess is that it is a driver issue, and hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be able to go to the next step.
Because my .... Answer
To download a built-in camera driver for a Dell Latitude 7410:
If you can't find the specific camera driver, you can try using Dell Support Assist to automatically detect and install the latest drivers for your system.
is what you already tried.
https://www.dell.com/support/product-details/en-uk/product/latitude-14-7410-2-in-1-laptop/drivers
Without the actual camera name etc, and your PRIVATE service tag (which you cannot post publicly) I cannot really do any more.

@ann_droid Thank you for your support.
Unfortunately there is no camera listed anywhere in the drivers and downloads section.
I've also tried to run a detailed hardware scan, however it keeps failing....

Hi
You don't mention which OS is installed.
Also Dell are a very upmarket company, possibly, and may very well list a Camera under HID, Human Interface Device.
So there is a Camera Firmware update for W10 and a Intel HID Event Filter Driver 04 Jun 2024 for W10 CMIT and DITTO for W11.

@ann_droid I'm using Windows 11 Pro
I was in touch with DELL yesterday and they got me to run a diagnostic test (tap F12 key while restarting). The only error it came up with was that my battery is coming to the end of its usable life - no mention of camera issues.
After the test, I went into Device Manager and my camera was listed again (no longer hidden).
However, when I turned on my computer this morning, I was back to the same old issue - camera hidden. So I ran the diagnostic test (which reported same result about the battery) and my camera was back.
After my camera was back I checked for driver updates on the DELL site and, still, saw nothing listed - I went through each one individually and saw nothing that mentioned anything to do with a camera.
I've also downloaded all the critical and recommended driver updates for my computer, though that's made no difference (even after I restart my computer). When I go into the DELL website, they're all still listed as critical and/or recommended. I downloaded one individual driver as a test and ran it manually. After it had completed (successfully) I restarted my computer and went back into the DELL site and it was still listed as critical... I have no clue what's going on with DELL at the moment...
I've found the Intel HID Event Filter Driver listed that you mention. In the details it mentions that you need to uninstall the previous version of the Intel HID Event Filter driver from Programs and Features before you download this update. I can't find any previous version on my computer (I'm probably not looking in the right place). What I can find in my downloads folder is that it was downloaded on Feb 5th, around about the time I got in touch with Microsoft about my camera (things had started to go wrong since their last update).

Hi
Your mention of the last update.....
The integrated webcam driver for Dell Latitude 7410 is typically built into Windows 11 (native drivers). Ensure the driver is installed by checking in the Device Manager under "Imaging Devices" or "Cameras"
could be the clue.
If needed, download the Latitude 7410 Windows 11 driver pack from Dell's support site.
https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-uk/000199394/latitude-7410-windows-11-driver-pack
https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER09754088M/1/7410-G89DY_Win11_1.0_A03.exe
The above link is a 1.8 GIGA-byte download, so please be aware.

Enable Webcam in BIOS:
So could your coin cell CMOS battery require changing as it enables the BIOS to retain your settings during a power off period?
I am running out of ideas unfortunately.

@ann_droid Thank you for your support, again... it is really helpful. There was an update pending for me this morning which I ran and after doing so, my camera as re-appeared... I'm keeping my fingers crossed that things might sort themselves out
