Need the system model to answer -- Latitude E6530, etc. On anything newer than about 10 years old, you will need to replace the system board, as everything newer than about that age has a soldered-in CPU.

You would need to replace the system board, and will be limited to same generation CPU (7th) you now have.
Compare the cost of a board with that of a newer system before committing the funds to replace the system board -- the cost will likely be similar.
