Plenty of laptops have the SIM slot, as it is part of the case, but not the WWAN card or antenna.
All you need to do is to remove the back cover to know for certain if you have a WWAN card and antenna. It likely needs just a single Phillips #1 head screwdriver, plus something to pry the edges of the cover such as spudger or guitar pick.
If your laptop does not have the antenna, your easiest solution would be an external USB WWAN adapter.
Thanks for the reply. Sorry but, I ordered the laptop as a refurbished laptop so I wasn't given the opportunity to select a WWAN option and, I don't have the required screwdrivers to check for the WWAN card. I don't want to seem like a male Karen but, what kind of laptop would have a sim slot but quite possibly not a WWAN card?
If there is also a pair of antenna leads, yes. If those are missing, you will also need to replace the display assembly with one having the antenna built in -- you cannot add the antenna wires any other way.
Thanks for the reply again. I believe the screw would be under the rubber feet which i'm scared to remove. plus, I cant even find a single screw driver in my house lol. I guess ill have to temporarily accept the fact that I don't have a WWAN card. Figuratively, Lets say i open up the laptop and there is "space" for a WWAN card, could I buy one and put it in?

Did you order that laptop with the WWAN option? If not, then the required antenna is probably not installed.
You can remove the base cover to see if a WWAN card is installed and see if antenna wires are connected.
