Dell 7290 no LED , does not switch on checked with a multimeter does get power running through the motherboard
Dell 7290 no LED , does not switch on checked with a multimeter does get power running through the motherboard.
So I have a friends 7290 . It does not switch on, when plugged in on the charge the LED does not display anything.
The battery was swollen and I have removed it, reseated the RAM, disconnected the CMOS and reconnected it again. I removed the SSD and reseated it again.
I checked with a multimeter that there is powering to the LED and to the battery terminal...
can anyone help me with what to do next ..
FYI The laptop did turn on when I got it. And it stopped working all together since the removal of the battery....

you are using a type C charger ?
If that's the case charging port is embedded on the motherboard itself.

I am using the normal charging port. I have also tried plugging in a charger in the USB-C port but still nothing.

If i take the probe of the multimeter and place it on one of the pins on the LED it lights up.

Was hoping I was just missing something given the fact that the laptop was "working" up until the battery was removed......
Thanks for the help!
