Dell Command | Configure : SetupPwd

Hello,

I am using the Dell Command | Configure to create a Multiplatform Package for BIOS settings for me to export to EXE and use in the OSD SCCM task sequence. The problem I am running into is with the "SetupPwd" [to set BIOS admin password]. It never works for me as it has a semicolon at the "SetupPwd" and "ValSetupPwd" when I check in the .sh file after the export.

Does anyone know the solution to this? I want to create a step in the SCCM task sequence to set specific BIOS settings, including set BIOS password. All other components work except for the password.

cat > ${TMPINI} <

[cctk]

SecureBoot=Enabled

;SetupPwd=

;ValSetupPwd=

HERE

Thank you,

Bob

Hello Dell Care,

I received a message to provide the service tag which I reply back to the email from Dell Care but unfortunately its a "noreply" email address. Could you please provide the way of communication for me to provide the service tag#?

Thank you, Bob

Hi,

Still having a problem?

Ensure you validate the package and fix up any errors. There should be no value in the --valsetuppwd for a bios without and existing password so that should be commented out.

Thank you Trooper Smith, I managed to get it working now. It is the masking password that I need to provide when exporting the configurations. Thanks, Bob
