Dell Latitude 5420 Browsers Crashing

On my work computer while connected to the VPN my browsers(chrome and edge) will close with out error messages. I have two external monitors plugged directly into the laptop. I have reinstalled the browsers several times, removed browser extensions, windows updates, dell driver updates, removed a corrupted file, cleared temp files and nothing has worked. Ideas?

I have the same problem with my Dell 5320. There are several employees in my company with this exact problem as well, all of them using relatively new 5320 or 5520 Laptops.

We are all on Windows 10.

Additional information:

I logged a Chrome crash with a debug session. This is the error:

0xc00000fd = status_stack_overflow a new guard page for the stack cannot be created.

The question is, does the browser function correctly with the VPN connection closed?

Very good question, I have not tried that, yet. But the OP indicated as much.  @scottr1111 could you share your experience?

I am having users experiencing the same thing on new (less than a month old) 5320s. Not connected to a VPN. Chrome will crash without an error and relaunch with a "restore pages" option.

Having the same issues even with the VPN disconnected.

Same the exact thing. Been having the issue for months and it's frustrating because I'm losing information while working and have to re-enter everything again. I work in health care so it's also wasting peoples time because of the issue.

Sharing some more information about system peripherals and drivers - maybe we can identify something in common. Amongst others, I was asked these questions by the Dell support via PM:

Do you  have Dell OEM version operating system installed or is it Company image?
--> Company image

Are there any external device connected?
--> All these devices are connected via Thunderbolt/USB-C on my Dell U3421WE. We also have Dell monitors at work (24 inch): USB mouse, USB keyboard, USB webcam, ethernet cable.

We suggest you to run hardware diagnostics with the AC Adapter connected to check if there are any other hardware faults. To run diagnostics, restart the computer, as the computer boots, press < F12 > when the Dell Splash Screen appears[...]
--> Both quick and advanced tests completed without errors.

What intel graphics drivers version do you guys have? I am on 27.20.100.9749. I will have IT install the latest graphics drivers when I'm in the office on Friday.

Software constantly running (cannot be closed without admin rights and therefore the issue could not be tested without them):
Sophos endpoint agent
Forticlient VPN

@scottr1111 @mlatall
Any chance there is an app with the name "Citrix Workspace" installed on your computers?

Citrix is on the computer and used frequently. @bopet

I'm going install the newest version of citrix and see if that resolves. Will keep you posted.

I had IT uninstall Citrix on Friday just before lunch (I don't use Citrix anyway). So far, not a single browser crash has happened in 9 hours. From my point of view, the issue is solved.
That might be a different story if you actually use Citrix, of course...
