DELL Latitude 5531 freezing

Hello,

A few months ago, our company has decided to order 5 new laptops DELL Latitude 5531. On two of them we have annoyng issue: when user it is in a call using Microsoft Teams, the laptop freeze completely and needs to be turned off from the power button. All drivers are up to date, BIOS is up to date. Nothing appears in event log, because of the fast freezing. Any ideas? Thanks.

Did you upgrade RAM? I'm asking you, because we upgraded all laptops with 2x16GB Kingston RAM. Our supplier's service department sent us a notification explaining about a memory chip incompatibility that cause computer freeze when it is in short idle time. Why this happens only on 2 of them, I really cannot explain.

@m_tmSame problem on one of our Dell Latitute 5531 pc's. Installed 1 stick of DDR5-4800mhz Kingston RAMs and the computer keeps freezing constantly. Diagnostics did nor reveal anything. My guess might be a bug inside the BIOS?

Interesting if the freezing is only prevalent to Kingston RAMs. I am thinking about purchasing different manufacturers (thinking about Crucial) RAMs and trying them out.

Here's a follow up. I've tried 2 different manufacturers Corsair and G.Skill, same clock speed and voltage, both were performance rams and both times the pc didn't even boot (might be problems with dell mobo and RAM CAS latency).

My conclusion is that Crucial (Micron) or Samsung ram should work with Latitude models as I believe Crucial and Samsung are main manufactures for Dell.

The question I have now is why doesn't Dell warn their customers about incompatibility problems? When asked Dell Support gives the answer that "the manufacturer does not matter except the compatibility of memory with the system"

Second follow up, bought 1 stick of 8GB DDR5 Crucial ram's and currently no problems with the system

Hello,

Crucial RAM works fine inside 5531 Laptops!
We use 2 x 8 and 2 x 16 GB w/o any problem.

Hello,

I'm encountering the same issue, and it typically occurs during Microsoft Teams meetings when I share my screen after some time. However, it's important to note that at times, this problem arises even when Teams meetings are not running. I want to emphasize that I consistently keep everything up to date, including Windows and the BIOS.
