Dell Latitude 7400 - Unexpected_store_exception
I have a Dell Latitude 7400 laptop from work. I'm getting random blue screens with the error code "UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION". After the blue screen the computer always boots with the error "No bootable device found", and I have to shut it down completely to get it to start again.
Windows doesn't create a minidump file when I get this bluescreen, but other blue screen errors do create a dump file.
This is my second Latitude 7400 computer I've got from work. I got my first one replaced because of the exactly the same problem. I've tried reinstalling Windows 10 a few times on both laptops, but that hasn't solved the problem.
I do have the computer connected to a dock. I've tried 3 different TB16 docks and one D6000 dock, so I don't think it's related to that. I've upgraded each dock with the latest firmware.
I have the same software setup on my computer as all of my co-workers, and none of them have this problem (they have the same model and everything).
Has anyone had this problem? Any ideas what I could do to fix it?

Yes I have, no errors. I ran memtest as well and got 8 passes.

I've already tried all those "solutions", except for changing my SATA configuration to AHCI (It's set to RAID).
I was given a link to a firmware for the Micron SSD that isn't listed under the 7400 drivers. I've installed the new firmware, version "22000150, A00". I'm going to see if that solves the problem.
Link to firmware -
Cheers!

Well that didn't last long. I reinstalled Windows on monday, and updated the SSD firmware yesterday. I got a blue screen this morning. Any other ideas?

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem with the same model as you. How did you correct the error? Thanks

Sorry to open an old thread - but I'm getting exactly this on a 7410. Did it ever get resolved?

Hi,
Try opening device manager, expading the "Disk Drives" part, right clicking on your OS drive and click on "update driver". Next click on "Browse my computer for drivers", and then click on "Let me pick......". Double click on the "Disk Drive" driver, and restart your computer afterwards :). Note down the name of the device before and after updating the driver. If the name changes after updating, your issue will most likely be solved. I would try it out at least.
I replaced my nvme SSD with a standard M.2 SSD, and haven't had a BSOD since. I just can't be bothered putting the nvme one back into the laptop tbh, even though updating the driver this way will most likely solve my issue haha

Any update on this?
It just happened on a Dell 7420 with Win10 22H2.
Is this due to an update?

Any updates on this or new guidance from Dell? This happens with my Latitude 7420 for several days after virtually any automated Dell update. No hardware problems on diagnostics, in fact I’ve had a new motherboard installed by Dell (for a different reason) and still no change in this behavior. My work IT is stumped too. I am leaning against another Dell product as this is just unreliable.
