Dell Latitude e6420 bricked after changing boot mode from Legacy to UEFI. This is ridicolous
My dell latitude e6420 got bricked after changing the boot mode from Legacy to UEFI. I am stuck at the dell logo, no way to go forward or to use the options
I tried to:
swap rams,
change rams,
remove the cmos battery, wait (even days) and put it back in
Tried pressing fn while its booting
Tried pressing D while its booting
Remove the battery pack and use the charging cable only
Nothing works.
Now i understand that this is an old pc, but it's absolutely ridicolous that you can mess it up by changing a stupid setting. I searched on the internet and this is a commun issue appartenly, even on the e6520

Have you tried changing back to Legacy. With a system as old as the 6420 it might be a good idea to replace the CMOS battery, a pretty easy job.

@noxomnia Let us know how that turns out. My wife has an E6420 and I had to replace the CMOS battery to correct some problems she was having.
