Dell Latitude E6420 error
Hi!
My laptop does not turn on because when I try to turn it on, this error will come:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4t8fkm8Cz0I
I think, it's a motherboard error. This error code is unknown in Dell Error Codes guide.
What is the problem?

Hi LittleG,
Can you advise what happens with the power power and the lock leds (Battery, hdd and wireless) when you power on the system?
Can you then advise what happens with the same diagnostic indicators if you try a diagnostic boot (Hold down the Fn key and power on the system)?
Are there any steps you have tried so far, i.e removing and reseating the battery, removing the memory etc?

Hi!
The laptop leds are not blinking, or lighting, (only the Power button and the CAPS LOCK key's led are lighting)
I removed the battery, SSD, and DVD drive, but i not tried anything else...
Update: I tried the diagnostic boot, but the laptop didn't do anything...

Thanks LittleG,
That's strange that the laptop didn't respond when you carried out a diagnostic boot when the power button and caps lock light up when powered on normally.
Can you test the diagnostic boot again and check for any activity on the power led and the charge, hdd and wireless leds.
If you don't mind, can you try the above step running on battery power only and then repeat it on ac power only and report back on the results.
Can you also hold down the D key and power on the system and let me know if the LCD panel cycle through a series of colours.
Thanks,
Alan

That sounds like the system is not posting. I believe the system will need the motherboard to be replaced to resolve that issue. Due to the age of the system we no longer carry parts for it. I would suggest looking for replacement parts online or taking the laptop to a local PC repair shop.

Hi,
I Have a Dell Latitude E6420,
The Laptop won't Boot.
When i try to power on, The HDD LED lights up, i listen the hard disk and then it powers down.
When i try to boot with the FN key pressed, The battery LED lights up in White, and WIFI LED Lights up in White, after somes seconds it powers Down.
When i try to poweron with D key pressed, The display lights up and change the colors White, RED, GREEN, BLUE, WHITE, BLACK.
What could be the problem with the Laptop?
What tests or solutuions can i apply?
Greetings

@SyMBA2K that led combination for the diagnostics boot is not a recognised code.
When you hold down the Fn key and power on the system each of the led's will either stay on, stay off or flash. Please can you run the test again and advise what happens for each led -
HDD -
Battery -
Wifi -

@JiMOFF are you saying that when you try a diagnostic boot (Fn key and power on) the system does not give any activity for the lock leds (HDD, Battery, Wifi)?
Due to the age of the system, it was introduced in 2011, we no longer carry parts for these systems. If the system is not providing any response apart from power led I would recommend removing all components from the motherboard i.e drives, wireless cards and memory modules and then trying the diagnostic boot again.
If the system still doesn't give any lock led response it's more than likely the motherboard that has failed. You would need to obtain the parts from a 3rd party company.
I'll drop you a private message for your service tag details.
