Dell Latitude E7270 Battery Drop

Hi Everyone Out There,

I'm facing an issue with my Dell Latitude E7270. I purchased a used one and it seemed alright. When I use the laptop after charging it 100%, it works smoothly until 50%-60% and after that the battery suddenly drops to 7%-8%. Also while charging, the same problem can be seen. After getting charged up to 60% it goes directly to 100%.

I purchased a new battery for it, it is giving me a backup of 3 hours & after that it also flicks and goes directly to 7-8%. I switched from adaptive charging to standard charging, this time it got up to 70% and then went straight to 100%.

I also updated the BIOS to latest version but all in vain.

I hope I can find someone here who knows the solution to this problem.

Looking forward to hear from y'all.

Thanks.

I have the same problem on a dell e7270.. the original battery had a drop at 50% to 6 to 8% I ran battery monitor several times and it seem to get lower each time .. meaning even ti 30% before drop .. so I decided to buy a brand new genuine battery and the drop in that battery is 52% to 6%… very strange .. logically the dell batteries must have bad calibration as there lasting 4 hours before the drop off …

Please run Dell Diagnostic to check status of the battery health by following steps in link below. After the quick tests, select Primary Battery, and then click on Thorough Test Mode. Report back any error code.
