Dell Latitude E7440 Battery Help Needed
My battery at the bottom of my laptop has started to expand. I'm worried it might catch on fire. The bottom of my laptop does sit flat anymore due to the battery this makes it hard to type and get work done. Please Help!!!

Remove the battery from the system and dispose of it immediately - outside your home or office.
Service manual:

Then replace the battery (the system will run fine on AC power alone until you do).

There's nothing you can do except replace the battery at this point. And if you leave the battery in the system much longer, beyond the safety hazard, you'll quickly wind up with a system that's destroyed from the battery swelling. That $100 or so battery replacement could turn in to a total loss of the system.
There are three different battery sizes for this system - 3, 4 and 6 cell.
