I currently have a Dell Precision 7770 laptop and a Dell WD19DCS docking station paired with an ASUS VG248 monitor and a Dell P2422H monitor. They are connected to the docking station via HDMI to DP and HDMI to USB-C cables, respectively. When my computer comes out of sleep mode or screen saver mode about 40-60% of the time the resolution and aspect ratios are on either monitors are messed up. The only fix to unplug the the cables and plug them back in, from either the monitor side or dock side. Sometimes its the ASUS monitor other times its the Dell, with no rhyme or reason to which one is messed up.

My personal desktop, connected to the same monitors via DP to DP never has this issue. I would use DP to DP for my laptop, but sadly the monitors only have one DP and one HDMI port each.
