E5570 new motherboard, doesn't recognize SSD
Well, the motherboard in my E5570 i5-6440 failed in the power section (charger goes dark as soon as plugged in), so I got another E5570 i5-6330 and took the motherboard out of it, and put it in my laptop.
Power works again, but it says it has no boot device.
Even though the SSD is in there.
Going into set-up, it does not show the SATA drive.
It also does not show any boot sequence or allow me to add one.
Did I get another bad motherboard? Or is there an easy fix?

You may want to test the drive in a working system, or mount it in a USB to M.2 sata box -- the fact that the system doesn't see the drive at all is ominous.
Or, if you have a known working M.2 SATA drive, try that.

Thank you for the reply.
So the SSD was in the original laptop, it was in there working until the power section of the MB went out. The laptop was running without issues on battery, just not on charger, and it would not charge the battery, so I feel confident the drive is OK.
I can (and will) check it when I get back to work next week, but I don't believe that is the issue.
I also ran the diagnostics, and everything checks out good except it does not see the SSD.

Understood, but they coincided. The charger LED went dark due to a short, which in turn prevented the battery from charging. The laptop kept on running fine until the battery was almost dead, that's when I shut it down.
Now on the replacement motherboard, the charger works find and the battery charges fine.
The symptoms do indicate a bad drive, so I will check that, but honestly I don't see how the drive would fail just from shutting down the laptop.
Time will tell

There's a difference between "would not charge the battery" and "LED on charger goes out on connection".
The former can be a matter of a bent pin or damaged DC jack -- the latter is a dead short somewhere in the system (depending on exactly where that short was, it could easily take out a low-voltage device like a solid state drive).
