Extra Screens for Latitude 5440
Hello, I am getting a Dell latitude 5440. I would like to connect 2 monitors in the home office. They each have hdmi and dvi sockets. The laptop should be closed during work, I only use the two extra screens. Do i need a special docking station for this or can i connect one monitor directly to the laptop and one monitor with a usbc/hdmi adapter? The screens should display differently, not mirrored. Thanks for your help

The system does not have USB-C, and the USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports won't have native video output. You will need a USB adapter or docking station that has displaylink support in order to use one of these ports for video output. This is NOT the same as a USB to HDMI or DVI cable -- you must use an adapter that supports displaylink output.

Are you asking about the brand new Latitude 5440 or the older Latitude E5440?
The new model should easily handle two external screens either by using two different connectors or with a docking station.
