Factory reset dell 3550 , window 11 pro

My Dell 3550 (11th Gen Intel i7) system running Windows 11 Pro has unexpectedly ceased accepting my fingerprint and password for login. A factory reset attempt via F12 initiated a one-time boost setting page  instead of the expected Windows recovery/factory reset options. What is the recommended procedure for resolving this password reset issue?
