The problem may be that the adapter you referred to may fit a number of various laptops. Do you have the service tag number written down somewhere or do you have a Dell account where you can search for your Dell order? Also if you purchased from Dell, Customer Care may have a record of your order.
No - there is no connection between the PPID on the adapter and the service tag of the system. If you've registered the system with Dell, the service tag will show in your Dell account. If not, check the invoice from your seller -- most retailers include the service tag on the receipt.

DELL: INSPIRON 15, LATITUDE E5520, INSPIRON 11 SERIES 3000, XPS 18, XPS 1810, DELL PORTABLE ALL-IN-ONE DESKTOP, INSPIRON 13 7000 P57G, P57G001, P57G002, INSPERION 15 5000.
So it becomes impossible to narrow down your exact model without more accurate information such as a service tag number.
