Forgot password to windows 10

Hi! I have a Dell windows 10 computer. I have forgotten my password. I’ve done all the setups it required me to do but it keeps taking me back to the original screen. Command prompt, reset computer, it’s keeps taking me back. I don’t want to anything erased. I really need something in my files that I get to get out!!! Is there another way I can recover my password? I’ve misplaced my cd recovery as well. This maybe a stupid question but I will ask anyway  if I buy another recovery cd, will that wipe out what I already have on my computer?
