Hard drive keys

After turning off the  admin password in the bios of my dell 3190 2in 1 laptop. Than it's asking me for a hard drive password which I never added or activated.  I tried getting a key online for the error code which eventually erased everything from the hard drive. I am confused now cuz I can't use the computer .and sometimes it says no boot device found. What do I do? Can I install a new operating system?

It sounds like the drive (it's a solid state drive) has failed.  There are two versions of this model - one has an embedded SSD or eMMC drive, and the tother has a conventional M.2 (replaceable) hard drive.  If you have the 64G version, it's eMMC and the system board will need to be replaced.

If you have a larger capacity drive, it can be separately replaced with an M.2 SATA drive.

    Hi

I would boot Linux mint live and, try and mount the drive and use testdisk to recover things I valued.
