HDD Password Help
I recently purchased a used Latitude E6510. On boot Dell Secure Manager pops up asking for a password. I don't know who the previous owner is as I bought it at a local pawn shop and you already know they won't give out the previous owners info so I called Dell Support and they gave me a Master Password. It didn't work. Is there any way to wipe the HDD password from the drive without having to use the services of an outside source?

Since you've called Dell and said the password they gave you doesn't work, replace the system board.

No - and even if you could get the master unlock from Dell, you'd still be faced with replacing the drive (unlocking the system does not unlock the drive).
Return the system to the shop for a refund.

Dell would not have given you a bios hard drive locked recovery password without proof of ownership. Changing hard drive won't work either because a new blank hard drive will be pass-worded and rendered useless if installed.
