I need Help with latitude e6420

Question

I have dell latitude e6420 and I face problem which is my laptop can't wakeup only by power botton even if it was slept or hibernated or even if restarted by software or update. i tried alot of solution even i changed OS for win10 21H1 to 21H2 to 22H1 to win11 then went back to 22H1 but nothing happen stil same issue. laterly the sleep option disappear from power options even from windows power settings. because of this issue i cant even upgrade BIOS cause this need restart. even i tried to upgrade BIOS from FreeDos USB drive but when restart to upgrade didnot start automatically only by pressing Power botton as a new starting without continue to upgrade. i am not sure but i think i got this issue after i updated the BIOS to A25 because i did not faced this issue before that. please if some one has any idea to slove this issue please share with me.

Have you recently changed the CMOS battery?

OR cleared the CMOS settings?

After you ran the Dell Diagnostic did any errors show?

You ask for help with this issue, but you dont exactly explain the issue.

Have you done a physical SHUTDOWN.EXE shutdown?

Ensured Fast Boot is not enabled?

I am running windows 10 21h2 right now.

I tried all the following:

I removed and reinstalled CMOS battery (cell).

i restored the bios default setting.

Dell Diagnostic dont show any things.

I tryed with and without fast boot.

I tried with another HDD with ok working system but same.

As i said the problem is with some hardware issue in the device like BIOS or somewhere becaus even when i tried to update bios by Dos via USB but when went to restart didnot auto start only by pressing power button means no issue within operating system.

@ann_droid  if you mean this 'C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe' I tried with and without admin but nothing happen only running some dos lines and disappear. I tried to restart the device after that but nothing happen, same issue switch off without auto start.

take it to a local repair shop  what you think the problem?

Hi OK.   Try SAFE MODE then when that fails take it to a local repair shop.
