Invalid Partition Table
Hello,
I started up my Dell Latitude E6430 ATG a couple of days ago to get these two messages in succession:
I had updated the BIOS and then installed Windows 11. It was working for a few weeks too. What causes this? I assume I have to erase and reinstall, but if I do, would this possibly happen again?
Thanks

The "time of day" error is from a dead reserve (CMOS) battery. The other error is probably a failed hard drive, but the Dell diagnostics (F12 at powerup) will confirm that.

@ejn63the diagnostics say that the drive is still good. I believe it is the original SSD, so I wonder if I should pull it out and run further tests on it?
Thanks

This system would not have come with an SSD -- it is 10 years old.
Replace the CMOS battery and reinstall the operating system.

The system was probably designed for a 9.5 mm drive, whereas the SSD is appreciably slimmer. You may need a spacer to make sure the drive attaches to the mainboard.

I also have this laptop and have encountered the same issues. I ended up installing 32-bit MX Linux hoping that would solve the problem but no luck. The cmos is good as well as the hdd. How do I fix the F1 to continue and F2 to enter setup?
