I just received my 5430 from Amazon Renewed, and it was 100% until I shut it down, then started uo again in the morning. All OK EXCEPT the keyboard was inop! But the keyboard backlight acted normally, as did the function keys (di/brighten display, etc).
Subsequent trials showed that doing a restart (Win 11 Pro 25H2) would restore the keyboard functionality! Doing the BIOS keyboard diagnostics showed 100% OK. I see two keyboards in Device Manager - a "Standard P/S-2 keyboard" and an "HID keyboard", but uninstalling these had no effect on the malfunction. I also uninstalled the touchpad driver, but that didn't help.
At this point, I am fairly sure it is a Microsoft problem, not Dell, but I don't know if it is specific to Dell computers or more general.

Hello,
If you have keyboard issues after a Windows update, try reinstalling your Touchpad E-ZPassDE drivers and/or disabling Fast Startup.

Hello Ivy,
I tried reloading the touchpad driver, but it made no difference. What DID work was to change the BIOS setting for Bootup to "Thorough" (there is no "Fast Startup", but this is the equivalent). This seems to have fixed the issue.
